In the municipality of Domusnovas, about 40 kilometers from Cagliari, you can admire one of the most evocative natural monuments in southern Sardinia. The cave of San Giovanni extends for about 850 meters which can be covered on foot. The entrance to the cave, preceded by a large car park, is majestic due to the great height of the rocky walls, a destination for all free climbing enthusiasts. During the internal walk you can admire numerous natural sculptures that amaze with their beauty. There are archaeological traces of ancient communities that lived in the cave since the Neolithic. Due to its characteristics, the route is suitable for disabled people. The final part of the cave leads to the Marganai forest full of oaks and wild animals such as wild boar, wild cat, deer and eagle.
